(off Davenham Close) Malvern
Summary Information

Curran Close is a small estate of just 4 detached houses.

It is in a very private and secluded situation, being off Davenham Close – the entrance to the private access drive for the estate is between numbers 16 and 18.

Plot 3 is a substantial 4 bedroom detached house with 3 parking spaces

Plot 4 is a 3 bedroom detached house with 2 parking space

Plots 1 and 2 are similar to Plot 4, but they are link-detached.

Curran Close is just half a mile from Church St, Great Malvern, around 10 minutes walk. A footpath (part of the development) leads from the estate to Sling Lane, providing a convenient short cut to the centre of Great Malvern.

Many of the houses around the development were built to house electronic engineers working at the Malvern Radar Establishment. Curran Close is named after the Malvern Scientist Joan Curran, who invented “window” (strips of metal) which disrupted signals from enemy radar and so protected allied bombers.

Being itself a Close, off another Close (Davenham Close), the development is amazingly quiet and peaceful, with no passing or through traffic.

Great Malvern is the heart of The Malverns.

It provides ready access to various parts of the world-famous Malvern Hills, which is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and which contains 14 site of Special Scientific Interest. The Hills are 20 kilometres long, covering some 105 square kilometres and are crossed by a myriad of public footpaths.

Great Malvern has a full range of retail outlets, from national chains such as Waitrose, to a wide variety of interesting independent shops, plus a large retail park nearby with the usual range of shops from Marks &Spencer, Boots, Next etc.

There is a great range of leisure, entertaining and dining facilities in the area, such as the Malvern Theatre & Cinema complex, the Splash swimming pool and gym, and many hotels and restaurants.

Malvern also has a great range of schools, from state primary and secondary schools and academies to world-famous public schools.

Malvern would generally be regarded as a safe and healthy place to live and to bring up a family.

Malvern has excellent transport links. Worcester City, with all the facilities that would be expected from a riverside Cathedral City, is just 8 miles or 20 minutes by car, with both regular bus and train links.

The M5 and M50 are both about 20 minutes away while Malvern has 2 main line train stations.

Court Property Developers are registered with the Government’s Help to Buy scheme.

This extremely valuable and popular scheme allows buyers of new build homes such as this Curran Close development, to benefit from a long term loan from the Government.

Among other conditions, the loan is limited to buyers who do not own another home and who will live in the property.

Key points of the loan:

  • The loan can be up to £50,000

  • Buyers have to have a minimum deposit of 5%. However, the Government loan is then added to the buyer’s deposit, so the buyer benefits from a much higher deposit. This reduces the amount to be borrowed and usually means a lower interest rate.

  • The loan is interest free for 5 years.

  • After that period, interest has to be paid, but probably at a preferential rate

  • The loan can be repaid at any time, but must be repaid when the house is sold.

There are other terms and conditions that your lawyer will explain.

This scheme makes our development extremely attractive and economic.
