BARLEYCORN FIELDS
(Continuation of Cornfield Close, Welland WR13 6RS)
14 New Build Houses
in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
For general information: we had an archaeological dig on the site,
as part of the planning conditions.
This found traces of an Iron Age Settlement
on the northern edge of the site.
The initial report can be read here.
We have financed a full archaeological excavation
which has now taken place
and a fuller report will soon be issued.

The development is located in the picturesque, traditional English Village of Welland, within the lee of the Malvern Hills and on the edge of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
HIGHLIGHTS

 Barleycorn Fields is an exclusive development in a very special location:

  • it is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty;

  • in countryside, on the edge of Welland, it is conveniently close to village shop, school, bus stop, pub, church etc;

  • Barleycorn is a spacious development - plenty of space between houses, and a large Orchard maintained by the residents;

  • houses have full fibre direct to each house - meaning ultra fast broadband;

  • the 5 houses now available all have a garage, providing additional flexible space.

Well-specified, high quality, energy-efficient homes in a desirable location with excellent communications.

Welland is a country village but close to the Spa Town of Malvern which offers that little ‘extra’. Malvern is host to a number of boutique bars, shops & restaurants, plus many mainstream facilities including Waitrose, Morrisons and the main banks. Not forgetting the famed Malvern Hills and the excellent Theatre Complex, which also houses a cinema, events hall, bar, restaurant as well as the theatre.

The City of Worcester is close, being only a 15 minute car journey while the Cities of Gloucester and Hereford are also in easy reach.

Great Malvern Main Line railway station is just 10 minutes’ drive and there is easy access to the M5 and M50 motorways, c10-12 miles away. The Village also hosts the historic Welland Steam Rally. Once a year, local fields are taken over and visited by stunningly restored vintage steam vehicles from the peak of the Victorian era. Furthermore, the Three Counties Showground is located just outside the Village and hosts many world renowned events & attractions throughout the year.

The Village has a range of facilities, including : Primary School, General Store, Post Office, Café, Restaurant, two good quality near-by pubs, Village Hall with local farmers market, and local Church.

Barleycorn Fields is a continuation of Cornfield Close in Welland (WR13 6RS) - the site entrance during build is adjacent to number 24; the eventual entrance will be at the end of the existing road.
Key features of the site include:

  • there is a large amenity area, to be planted as an orchard, which is owned by householders and for the benefit of residents
  • in countryside, but close to village amenities
